We welcomed two baby pygmy goats to our classroom for the day. We had a blast learning about them, reading to them, and watching them run, play, and nap. Everyone had turns feeding them milk from their bottle. They were even the subjects of our writing activity. Hands-on learning is the best! Day 1: Dress in your class color (blue for second grade), celebrate Mass with our grandparents followed by donuts in the gym Day 2: Dress up like a fictional character Day 3: Wear pajamas and crazy hair, all-school gathering to create valentine cards for nursing home residents Day 4: Wear clothing to represent local groups, teams, and businesses Day 5: Dress up like nerds, 8th grade vs. staff volleyball tournament All Week: Penny War fundraiser for the House of Mercy in Loyal, WI
We added a little fun to our contraction unit by pretending to be doctors performing surgery on words to create contractions! Congratulations to all the students in the second grade class who received the sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time ever! What a blessing! A big thank you to their parents and families for their love and support!
Second Graders worked with students in the 4K class to create gingerbread men that were used to decorate a room where meals are served to the homeless.
Second Graders and Kindergarteners made turkeys together. The Kindergarteners practiced writing the letters of their names on the feathers. The Second Graders practiced fact families on their turkeys' feathers.
